Operators of the Golden Chariot Train, Karnataka State Tourism and Development Corporation (KSTDC) have announced the inaugural date of Splendor of the South journey for the upcoming run season of this Indian luxury train. On 15th October, 2012, Golden Chariot will embark on its first Splendor of the South itinerary from Bangalore to Kerala that will last for 168 hours. This luxury train in India will depart from Yeshwanthpur Railway Station in Bangalore and will cover an array of temples towns in Tamil Nadu and backwater region of Kerala before concluding the 8 days and 7 night’s journey.

The Golden Chariot with its two enchanting voyages - Pride of the South and Splendor of the South- takes guests on a roller coaster ride across sublime terrains of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The weeklong journey on board Golden Chariot train will explore various destinations in south India which include World Heritage Sites, architectural marvels and natural and cultural treasure troves.

The train offers accommodation in 44 luxuriously appointed guest cabins, each of whose motifs reflects the cultural ethos of the erstwhile ruling dynasties of south India. With a capacity to accommodate 88 guests, these cabins come equipped with modern facilities such as Wi-Fi internet, LCD television, DVD players, writing desk and attached bathroom. The opulence of this Indian luxury train has been maintained through two tastefully appointed restaurants, a nonchalant lounge bar, business centre, gymnasium and a wellness spa.
