The Golden chariot is first and only south Indian luxury train. The train operated by Indian Railways and Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC). This luxury train journey begins every Monday from Bangalore and crisscrosses through Karnataka and Goa.

The Golden Chariot luxury train offers two journeys:
1- Pride of the South - The 7 Nights / 8 Days journey covers Bangalore, Kabini, Srirangapatnam, Mysore, Shravanabelagola, Belur, Halebid, Hampi, Badami, Pattadakal, Goa and concludes in Bangalore.
2 - Splendor of the South - The 7 Nights / 8 Days journey starts from Bangalore, Chennai, Pondicherry, Tanjavur, Madurai, Thiruvananthapuram, Alleppey, Kochi and ends in Bangalore.
Facilities: The Golden Chariot train runs with 19 coaches, which are fully equipped with air-conditioning, padded beds, live television, DVD with 6 satellite channels, vanity/writing desk and private bathroom etc. The train has two Restaurants (Nala and Ruchi), Lounge Bar, a Gym coach and an Ayurveda Spa center. The 44 guest cabins of this train can accommodate 88 guests.
